Jefferson County, Colorado

Mission

The mission of the Jeffco LWV Book Club is to encourage reading and discussion of diverse educational nonfiction literature of interest to LWV members and the community.

About the Jeffco LWV Book Club

Each year a subgroup of members selects at least eight books to be read, one each month from September through May, from those suggested by the membership. Books selected are usually newer books of medium length, on diverse topics of current interest. When possible, topics which relate to issues of interest to the LWV that year are preferred. Books written by female or Colorado authors are also preferred. Books suggested but not selected for the group to read are the basis of a supplementary reading list for individual enjoyment.

Discussions of the book choice of the month take place on the third Wednesday at 1 pm.

    September Book Club Selection

Watergate: A New History
By Garrett M. Graff

Do we need another book on Watergate?
Yes! Using newly public documents, transcripts, and revelations, author Garrett Graff recounts every twist with remarkable detail and page-turning drama, bringing readers into Washington’s chaotic daily newsrooms, crowded Senate hearings, and even the Oval Office itself, during one of the darkest chapters in American history.

The book was published in 2022 and is 832 pages long.
